Kids Play: Finally in the Trash

Look at all that Toy Story trash. Wow, you are thinking, someone is spoiled! Three Toy Story toys on one night of Hanukkah! If only I could be that child.

While I’ll be the first to admit the girls have too many toys, Lily acquired these toys over a (short) time frame months ago from a variety of people. Therefore, she’s only MILDLY spoiled. These boxes have been sitting in our playroom ever since, making us look like Toy Story box hoarders or like we don’t know where our garbage can is or something.

I was dying to throw this trash out, but Lily wouldn’t let me. The last time I threw out a package she coveted (her potty seat box), it resulted in tears and days of asking where the package was since it disappeared while she was sleeping. It wasn’t worth risking that happening again, so I let my playroom look even more trashed than usual.

Yesterday something magical happened. I asked Lily if I could throw out the boxes and she said yes! She said it was ok because “They’re out now. I can play with them!”

I’m not sure how they weren’t out of their boxes the last 3+ months, but I couldn’t argue with her logic. Three less giant pieces of junk in my playroom! Joy followed when she promptly let me throw out her new Buzz Lightyear box.

Yay! We’re no longer trash hoarders!

    I LOL’ed.

Also, you may wish to watch Sex and the City. I’m sure it wasn’t intentional.

I don’t remember what SATC that is referring to? I am sure I watched it though. Max helps me put boxes into the recycling bag in our kitchen and helps me toss them into huge recycling bin outside. Only once in a while will he keep pulling out a paper or box and keep playing with it for hours on end.
